My friend Cathy of Bossa Nova Baby and I organize Crafty Wonderland: Portland’s monthly art + craft extravaganza. We thought Portland could use a regular indoor venue for artists and crafters to sell their goods year-round. Each month we bring in a rotating lineup of over 40 vendors, plus we offer a free DIY Table where visitors can make a cool craft item to take home.

I’m also a member of the women’s collective Portland Super Crafty. We came together to help promote our businesses and spread the word about the joys of crafting and the importance of buying handmade items. Our first book, Super Crafty: Over 75 Amazing How-To Projects was published by Sasquatch Books in the fall of 2005. We also filmed a few episodes of Uncommon Threads for the DIY Network. I’ve always wanted to be on tv, but I’m actually quite camera shy.
